One place to run your lake and keep everyone informed.

Lake Almanac puts lake conditions, dam operations, independent gauge data, notices, and board reporting in one place. Staff stop rebuilding the same packet from spreadsheets, inboxes, and disconnected web pages. Keep an enduring district record and give residents one official source.

60-day free trial. No commitment. Cancel anytime. Sign up, then we work with your district to import old records, email subscribers, and contact information.

Keep the website you already have. Add a link to the Lake Almanac public page from your existing site. You do not need a new website or domain. District staff can download dated PDF and CSV records for their own files.

Available today

  • Lake conditions. Give residents one official page they can bookmark. The page includes weather, a map, who to contact, and notes you choose to share. It is designed and regularly tested against WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

  • Gauge connections and source history. Connect USGS lake level and river flow, plus climate stations for temperature and precipitation, by selecting them on a map. A weather forecast is included. Where historical records are available, Lake Almanac brings them into the lake record, often covering years of observations. Lake Almanac checks supported sources for new readings about every 15 minutes. Source reporting schedules vary.

  • Dam log. Log gates, notes, and photos from a phone, tablet, or computer. Corrections add a new snapshot. They do not overwrite what happened. Older dam logs can be imported on request when records are available in a usable digital format. The history stays with the district.

  • Notifications. Residents opt in from the public page. During setup, the district can invite other dam operators and partners to subscribe. Automated notices can cover weekly conditions, high water, and source outages. Staff can send a custom update when operations change.

  • Board reports. Generate a dated PDF and CSV for the board, engineer, or counsel, along with a clear operating summary. All of it is built from the same record, so staff stop rebuilding packets from scratch.

  • Authorized water levels. Show the district’s authorized operating range alongside current conditions. The dam log records what the district did, while gauge data records what the lake and river did. Together, they let the board, engineer, and residents compare documented operations with independent measurements. Lake Almanac does not set the authorized range.

How we set the district up

Sign up, then Lake Almanac works with your district to get you live. We import old records, bring in existing email subscribers, set contact information, and connect gauges with you. If something gets stuck, email us and you will hear from a real person who understands the product and will help get it resolved.

  1. Create an account. Sign up and identify the lake and available data sources on a map.

  2. Hands-on custom setup. Lake Almanac works with your district to import old records, bring in existing email subscribers, set contact information, connect gauges, and configure the public page.

  3. Invite the district. Authorized users receive access to the operating record, with the right permissions.

  4. Go live on the trial. The public lake page can go live during the 60-day trial. Operators can log work from a phone, tablet, or computer. Cancel anytime.

Product direction

These optional capabilities are not required to use Lake Almanac. They are planned for release by November 1, 2026 and will be included in the subscription when available. Your district can keep its existing website and continue using only the public lake page.

  • Optional full district website. Meetings, ordinances, notices, events, documents, and people sit next to the lake page. Residents keep one bookmark instead of a separate site.

  • Optional online forms. Permits, signups, volunteer intake. The request lands in the record instead of an inbox full of PDFs.

  • Optional custom domain. Connect a domain the district owns, if it wants one. People keep the address they already know.

  • Optional asset and maintenance records. Track district assets, inventory, inspections, repairs, locations, and scheduled work in the same system.

Suggested board motion

“I move to authorize the district to start a 60-day free trial of Lake Almanac, with no setup fee and no commitment. If the district continues after the trial, the subscription is $4,800 per year.”
